A woman who breached a suspended sentence by committing crimes including assault, criminal damage and standing on a railway line to obstruct a train will be sentenced next month. A FIRE crew were called to a home in Pound Hill this morning after a fire was accidentally started in the kitchen. The crew from Crawley were called to Burns Road at 6.55am and used two breathing apparatus, a hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to tackle the blaze. They left the scene at 7.13am.

A POUND Hill man has been fined after he was caught driving over the speed limit.In his absence it was proved at Crawley Magistrates' Court on October 27 that Alexandru Preuteasa, of Wakehams Green Drive, drove faster than the 30mph limit on Gatwick Road on March 12. The 22-year-old was fined £220 and had three points put on his licence. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £22 and £85 court costs.
